Tracts |
|
What is a tract anyways? Tract comes from the word Tractarian. The dictionary describes a tract as a short discourse or pamphlet especially on a religious subject. The tract has a long history dating back to the 13th century, even before the printing press was invented. Earlier tracts were longer discourses of many pages meant as a defence of the faith or as an influence in the church. Smaller pamphlet-sized tracts became popular in the early 1800s and have been used ever since as an effective tool in evangelism. They offer the ability to leave written and visual material with anyone you contact, can deliver a relevant message, and often walk someone through the steps to salvation including the sinner’s prayer.
